Commissioning Custom Work

Interested in a commission? If you are looking for just the right piece to showcase a beautiful part of your home or other space, there is nothing more exciting than commissioning a one of a kind piece which is customized to your dream environment. I love to collaborate in this manner and am honored to help you achieve your unique vision.

Here is a summary of the process: If you order a commission piece, I will paint two pieces because this helps me keep the work fresh and intuitive. You/your client get to pick your favorite of the pieces. This helps guarantee you get something you absolutely love! Here’s how the process begins: We will set a color palette, dimensions, and surface (wood, canvas, paper), before I start. It is helpful to have photos of the space where the painting will hang, but it is not required. You can also choose 3-5 pieces of my previous work that resonates with you the most. This will help me narrow down the feeling and look you would like to achieve.

I will swatch out the palette colors in paint for you before I start. I will show you each piece when I am about 75% finished, to allow for minor adjustments. That is also the point at which you or the client choose the one you love and that is the one I will complete. A 60% nonrefundable deposit is due before I begin work, and the other 40% before delivery. The commission process takes approximately eight weeks, but can be completed faster if needed.
